Placon unveils GoCubes disposable plastic food packaging

MAJOR North American plastic packaging designer and manufacturer Placon has introduced a new line of stock food packaging containers from its Fresh ‘n Clear product range.

The GoCubes disposable plastic food packaging, designed to offer optimum versatility and more merchandising options than other stock thermoformed containers on the market, will change the way consumers look at “square” plastic packaging. The modern and nonstandard design features a three-compartment universal insert tray that can be used to mix and match food items and offer a variety of prepacked meal options. Health-conscious eaters and busy on-the-go consumers can benefit from the portion-sized inserts. Convenience stores and supermarket delis can highlight and separate fresh ingredients to ensure food stays and looks fresh longer. The custom food packaging design and smart functionality extend foods’ shelf life whilst ensuring ease of use, which can boost impulse purchases and repeat sales.

The Fresh ‘n Clear GoCubes containers, which were launched alongside Placon’s Selectables customisable stock food packaging line, come in five, sleek, stackable sizes from 12 to 36 ounces. The film sealable containers have a one-size-fits-all, clear recycled PET lid option with anti-fog technology, secure seals, and easy-open tabs.

The plastic “disposable” food containers use EcoStar (R) post-consumer recycled PET from curbside collected bottles and thermoforms and are therefore 100% recyclable.
