FOR many companies, the year 2009 was marked a period of intense reflection and hard thinking on the new strategies needed to face up to market shake-ups. The hoped-for turnaround expected in the year 2010 must find companies ready to project their products and solutions far and wide, to incite business people who have decided to upgrade their baking facilities, and their outlets and to streamline their production cycles, to invest in new equipment. A.B. Tech Expo, to open at Milan on 23 to 27 October is just the platform to re-launch business. The event stands out as one of the foremost international trade fairs to offer makers of machinery, ovens and installations, ingredients and furnishings for bakery, confectionery, pastry, fresh pasta and pizza industries, the top-class venue that meets their expectations. With still eight months to go before the show, more than 100 companies have already confirmed their participation and account for over 50% of the show space occupied in 2007. The data show not only that large numbers are being drawn to the show but also that 80% of Italian manufacturers have opted in 2010 to be present at A.B. Tech Expo.

There are plenty of good reasons why showcasing at Milan is a winner: The city of Milan is a financial capital and the powerhouse of Italy's economy. It is within easy reach from anywhere in Italy and the rest of the world and boasts superior and plentiful hospitality accommodations. Also, it is the seat of Europe's largest trade fair centre, hailed for its world-class amenities, its visual audacity and its easy access, by motorway and from the city directly by underground and the new railway station. Incentive loans schemes for exhibitors at fieramilano, expressly designed to stimulate market recovery, have been arranged by way of an accord between Fiera Milano and the banking group Intesa San Paolo. Because the event takes place within Milan, the companies that participate in A.B. Tech Expo ?Italian companies or Italian branches of foreign companies ?may access privileged loans of anywhere between €10,000 and €750,000 to cover showcase expenses ranging from show floor rent, booth fittings, and down to expenses for ancillary services attached to journeying to Milan. This unique opportunity will contribute greatly to raising the visibility of exhibitors who will join in an event that fuels economic growth and generates business deals. An event truly representative of the market Synergy generated by the team up with Fiera Milano Group. The co-operation with HOST, the International Exhibition of the Hospitality Industry, enabled the presence at the recently held event of three in-show baking areas (bakery, pastry and pizza), the first of a series of initiatives that A.B. Tech Expo is organising in association with Fiera Milano and its network abroad. The scope is to work within a broader framework that offers exhibitors opportunities to raise their visibility both before and after the show, and to bring them in contact with contiguous markets to encourage and facilitate business interpenetration. A.B. Expo 2010 is a major opportunity not to be missed. Indeed, the Expo's line-up of exhibits provides a fitting backdrop to the issues of world food and sustainability that will dominate the great International Exposition to be hosted by Milan.
