IRNA: How would you assess the market for injection moulding machinery in Asia?
Mr. Po-Hsun Wang: Since 2000, industrial plastic production has seen dramatic growth in Asia owing to the transfer of advanced moulding technologies from Europe and America, such as high-speed precision, multi-colour injection, energy saving, and other special features. Even under the impact of the 2008 financial crisis and the more recent European debt crisis, the injection moulding machine market is still growing in Asia.
But due to the uncertainty about the economic condition, customer demand has changed. Short-term planning is more preferred than long-term investment, and customers often ask for very short delivery lead time bringing stress to machinery suppliers. Moreover, customers ask for production efficiency, quality, and stability that the trend for injection moulding machines is more on customised services to become more competitive.
