Poelman is interim CIO at Barry Callebaut

AFTER seven years with Barry Callebaut,  chief innovation officer (CIO) and Executive Committee member Hans P. Vriens has resigned from the company for personal reasons with immediate effect.

DIRK POELMAN, chief operations officer, will assume the role of CIO ad interim in addition to his current function, the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality cocoa and chocolate products said. In this interim function, he also reports to Barry Callebaut CEO Juergen Steinemann. The succession process for the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) role has been initiated.

Mr Poelman (1961) joined Barry Callebaut in 1984. He was appointed VP Operations and Research & Development in 2004. He became COO in September 2006 and a member of Barry Callebaut's Executive Committee in November 2009.
