PolyOne and Victorinox team up for better Swiss Army Knife

PolyOne Corporation, a premier global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, has teamed with Victorinox, manufacturer of the Original Swiss Army? Knife, to improve the appearance, chemical resistance, mechanical performance, and ergonomics of its world-famous knives.

Since 2007, PolyOne has supplied Victorinox with multiple specialty solutions used in the manufacture of its vast portfolio of products. Most recently and in one knife model, PolyOne formulated a specialty material for the handle to improve grip and aesthetics. At the PolyOne Innovation Center facility in Gaggenau, Germany, technical experts tested the material combination to confirm its durability after application development experts, working with the Victorinox design team, recommended these two solutions.

The name Victorinox is closely linked to the legendary "Original Swiss Army Knife." Karl Elsener founded his cutlery workshop in 1884 and launched a matchless success story. Today Victorinox produces and distributes a range of valuable quality products throughout the world: Swiss Army Knives (60,000 pcs. daily), household and professional cutlery, timepieces, travel gear, fashion and fragrances.
