PolyOne explores Africa after expanding innovation center in China

PolyOne Corporation has opened an expanded customer-focused Innovation Center in Shanghai, China. The Shanghai Innovation Center has doubled in size and added new capabilities that will enable the company to better collaborate and develop customer-centered innovations.

The center has a design showroom displaying how color and special effects can impact different shapes, textures and materials, a state-of-the-art technology training facility, and advanced equipment to expand capabilities in textile/fiber applications and molecular-level material analysis. These new additions further strengthen PolyOne’s ability to work with customers to enhance their products, enter new markets, and help them accelerate growth.   

Aside from the Shanghai Innovation Center, in Asia PolyOne also has innovation centers in Suzhou and Singapore and research and development facilities in Shenzhen, Tianjin, Dongguan and Thailand. 

New facility in Africa
ColorMatrix, a subsidiary of PolyOne Corporation and a leading innovator of liquid color and additives for plastics, announced plans to open a new facility in Africa. The new facility, which will be located in the Montague Gardens industrial precinct in Cape Town, South Africa, is scheduled to open in August 2012 and will support customers throughout Africa. Services will include sales, technical support and an on-site color laboratory for rapid color development. The immediate focus of the operation will be to deepen support for customers who manufacture products such as PET containers for the beverage and personal care markets.
