China's Healthcare Reform

In April 2009, the Chinese Government started its healthcare reform programme with the main goal of providing basic healthcare services to its population of more than 1.3 billion people. A joint funding by China's central and local governments, allocation will be 50% for the expansion of medical insurance, 30% for the construction of rural healthcare hospitals, and 20% for the funding of public hospitals.
