The LMT Group is keeping to its long-term growth targets. The annual turnover of the business group is intended to increase from 380 million euros in 2016 to 540 million euros by the end of 2020. The basis for this growth strategy is a focus on specialized technologies for global markets. This includes solutions for tablet production and capsule filling, primarily for the pharma industry and the manufacture of food supplements, as well as precision tools for the industrial processing of state-of-the-art materials. While demand has remained stable at a high level in Europe and the United States, Asian markets in particular are experiencing significant growth.

Müller, CEO of the LMT Group. “Because of our international presence and expertise in local markets, which we have developed strategically and are continuing to expand, we are benefiting from increasing demand for specialized technological know-how, above all in India and China. We support our international customers in building up capacities in these markets. Furthermore, local companies’ demand for the solutions we offer is also growing. We can therefore look towards the future with great confidence.”
New facility in China to open in 2018
One example of this development is the new facility for the Chinese subsidiaries of Fette Compacting and LMT Tools in Nanjing. The new factory and administration building in the growth region around Nanjing will be opened on schedule in 2018. This investment will enable the LMT Group to double its tablet press production capacity in China and expand its service offering for precision tools. In addition, the LMT Group is launching an international training program for Chinese young employees in 2018. This is based on an LMT Group cooperation agreement with the Jiangning Development Zone, a district of Nanjing, on the training of young workers. At the core of the agreement is the establishment of a dual vocational training program following the German model. Here the LMT Group is contributing its expertise and additional resources and will open up the LMT Group Academy China to school students and apprentices of various technical occupations in Nanjing.
