Plastics & Rubber

The first and only IMS-certified plastic thermoforming company in the Philippines, Primepack Technologies, Inc. held launching program to celebrate the company’s first official export to Thailand. The ceremonial toast on April 11 was held at the company’s plant at the Light Industry and Science Park-II in Laguna, Philippines. The company holds such major achievement another important milestone after almost two years of development. According to company officials, the efforts of Primepack’s staff have paid off and with the company’s entry into the global market, more big opportunities are being anticipated with little patience and hard work.

The launching event was co-celebrated with Primepack’s quarterly employee assembly which is a regular program being conducted by the company’s human resources and management teams. This is done particularly to share valuable information about the company’s business condition, new management directions, the challenges faced in everyday operation and how they were addressed. It also is a venue where top performing employees of the company are given recognition.

The first export to Thailand consists of injected trays for medical use and was ordered by Thailand’s biggest eyewear exporter. Primepack earlier conducted a market research to look into which ASEAN country Primepack business will be more viable in terms of the type of products and industry it caters. The research showed that Thailand is a perfect fit.  Penetration was not as complicated since the company was fortunate enough to get strong referrals from its local customer which also has operations in Thailand.

Since injection business is new to Primepack, the company decided to form strategic alliances with its suppliers and subcontractors to support the company as it builds stronger operational backbone to support this new business in the long term. Aside from Thailand, Primepack has been receiving inquiries from companies in other Asian countries. Since Thailand is a very strategic market in terms of location, the company hopes to eventually serve Malaysia, Singapore, India and Indonesia in the future.

Primepack Technologies Inc. was formerly Texchem-Pack Philippines (established in 2002), and was later acquired by AMTES Corporation officially making it as one of its subsidiaries. The company has been providing packaging products to customers in the electronics, data storage, semiconductor, automotive and medical industries. It offers a variety of thermoformed and injected plastic packaging products, as well as other services – from design and product development to prototyping and mould fabrication to mass production. It also provides plastic tray recycling/washing as well as a total back-end packaging solutions to customers who demand these types of services.
