In July, a new undertaking to boost Indonesia's milk production was jointly launched by dairy cattle farmers from cooperatives from the region around Bandung, representatives of the Indonesian central and local government, Frisian Flag Indonesia (a Dutch cooperative) and the Embassy of the Netherlands.
Frisian Flag Indonesia and the cooperatives will together invest Rupiah 78 billion (€ 6 mln) and the Dutch Minister for Trade and International Cooperation will contribute Rupiah 52 billion (€ 4 mln). The programme will run from 2013-2017 and is expected to increase the welfare of more than 10,000 farmers in Pangalengan and Lembang.
