EACH of the UK companies at the PPMA-supported pavilion at ProPak China has its own distinct competitive advantage and a certain amount of leadership in its segment, according to the trade association. But for the British companies to enter and succeed in the Chinese market, the most important issue facing these companies are the language gap and cultural differences.
PPMA Group is composed of associations representing the packaging and processing machinery industries in the United Kingdom.

With regards to better communication, the PPMA China office plays a very big role can help solve, said PPMA Group director Alan Yates. Member companies are not only provided language translation, but also how to navigate the market through a better understanding of Chinese culture and business practices.
“PPMA China has been a successful incubator that helps UK companies, especially early on, to reduce risk and improve their success rate,” explained Mr Yates.
Even small and medium sized member companies who have had help in China have achieved very remarkable results. “They’re thumbs up for the services PPMA China has provided, and the role it has played in building a bridge between China and the UK,” he added.
