PROPAK Vietnam 2013, one of the biggest and most successful exhibitions for the food and beverage industry in Asia, will be held on March 20-22 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. Incorporating Pharmatech Vietnam 2013 and Lab & Test Vietnam 2013, it has become a must-visit event for industry stakeholders. The three-day fair is being organised by the Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd (BES) and Allworld Exhibitions Alliance, in partnership with VCCI Exhibition Service Co. Ltd of Viet Nam.

Last year, the show gathered 261 participants from 26 countries from Africa, Asia, Europe, as well as the United States and Australia. Pavilions for China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United Kingdom were amongst those that saw a lot of traffic.
The 2012 edition also attracted 8,378 trade buyers from 35 countries, a 9.98% increase from the previous gathering. But the number of local trade visitors was also high, with most of them being able to source and procure machinery, equipment and materials. This clearly reinforces the country’s huge potential as a key country market with an excellent domestic and export consumption growth potential.
Based on visitor comments, last year’s show confirmed Propak’s reputation as the premier international trade event for Viet Nam’s food, drink and pharmaceutical processing and packaging industries, especially in its delivery of high quality and high quantity trade buyers.
Aobboon Yamsirikul, manager for corporate communications of SCG Paper PLC, told organisers: “This year’s event managed to attract more visitors than the previous edition. This has demonstrated that the show has more potential to attract even more targeted customers. We received quite remarkable feedback, which is more than we expected. We confirm that we will come back again next year.”
Another exhibi tor, Tim Groth from Rieckermann in South Viet Nam and Cambodia, echoed the sentiment. “Rieckermann exhibits at ProPak Vietnam every year and once again we have had a good show,” he told organisers. “We meet our existing customers and many new ones at the show. This year we have seen very strong interest in packaging and processing machines due to higher quality demands in Viet Nam. We are looking forward to coming back next year.”
Meanwhile, Nguyen Duy Hung, a sales engineer for Standard Industry BU, Mettler–Toledo Vietnam LLC, had this to say: “We got our targeted customers—500 listed, local and international. This year we have invested in our show for this exhibition more than we did last year. We will follow up as we expect to have more customers after the show.”
ProPak Vietnam 2012 presented the year’s “best” in technology, innovation, machinery, services and materials for food, drink and pharmaceuticals processing and packaging.
The network of pro-active official supporters from the local government and private sector was instrumental in helping penetrate the lucrative buyers’ market within Viet Nam’s manufacturing sectors. The organisations that continue to lend support are the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST), the Viet Nam Plastics Association (VPA), the Viet Nam Packaging Association (VINPAS), the Viet Nam Association of Food Science and Technology (VAFoST), the Rubber-Plastic Manufacturers Association (RPMA) and the Viet Nam Saigon Plastics Association (VSPA).
BES and Allworld have offices in 34 countries and have organised over 200 events in 25 industries. They specialise in processing and packaging events. Allworld Exhibitions also organises ProPak Asia in Bangkok, ProPak Malaysia, ProPak Indonesia and ProPak China (Beijing and Shanghai).
Meanwhile, BES’s local partner in Viet Nam, VCCI Exhibition Service, is one of Viet Nam’s leading organisers ofLebron Soldiers X 10
