This year, the German pavilion at ProPak Vietnam boasts over 25 exhibitors, making it the country with one of the most participants to the show. This is a clear indication of the strong partnership that exists between countries. Germany has been recording higher exports to Viet Nam recently.  In 2012, it accounted for 10% of Viet Nam’s total imports of food processing and packaging machinery which amounted to  310 million.

According to reports, Germany exported about 41 million worth of food processing and packaging equipment to Viet Nam in 2013, a growth of 68% compared to the previous year. Exports of plastic and rubber machinery reached 11 million, or 83% increase, for the same period.

Viet Nam aims to achieve an annual GDP growth of 5.6-5.8% in 2014. As it expects its food & beverage industry to grow further, it will continue to import equipment, and rely on German technology.
