ProPak Vietnam 2014: Stephan makes inroads into convenience food sector

Stephan Food Processing Machinery designs and builds food processing machines for the convenience food, dairy (processed cheese) and confectionery sectors.  The German company has a strong global presence, with a history dating back to the early 1950s. Today it is a respected brand name known for quality, reliability and innovation, said Kim Andersen, managing director, Stephan Machinery Asia Pacific.

The company has been operating in Southeast Asia for over 20 years.  Mr Andersen explained that the Asia-Pacific market is very strong for Stephan particularly in the area of processed cheese machinery where it is a market leader. “Our other areas of machine manufacturing such as convenience food and confectioneries are still relatively new for Stephan but we are starting to make good in-roads into these sectors,” he said.

Stephan manufactures a large range of machinery that processes a whole array of food products such as mayonnaise, baby food, pet food, paté, sauces, and dips, to name a few. It also offers standard off-the-shelf machines as well as machines made to customer specifications.  “Stephan has been operating in Viet Nam for over seven years, and although we offer only premium products, our pricing strategy for Asia Pacific makes us very competitive compared to other European brands,” Mr Andersen said.
