Although a lot of manufacturers from all over the world exhibiting at ProPak came to Viet Nam to expand their sales and market share, one Japanese company that stood out from the crowd and taken the next step with setting up a manufacturing facility in this country, was the Takigawa Corporation. First starting operations in Japan in 1907 and incorporated in 1951, the Takigawa opened their production facility in Viet Nam some two years ago. The company offers an impressive list of products and services ranging from planning, production, and distribution of flexible packaging (pouch packaging), production of flexible packaging, manufacturing of custom and specialty blown and cast films, packaging graphics, design, and print of flexible webs, complete lamination capabilities, innovative and industry-leading bag manufacturing.

Apart from having manufacturing facilities in both Japan and Viet Nam, the company also has a strong overseas presence with offices in Singapore, Europe and the U.S. Mr Sho Takigawa, general director said, “Most of our products manufactured here in Viet Nam are destined for overseas markets such as France and the U.S., but the company is working towards increasing its domestic market share in the future. Mr Sho had said that although it hasn't been all smooth sailing setting up operations here in Vietnam, the company has grown through the experience and is still very positive about the future growth potential of Viet Nam and neighbouring regions.
