VISITORS and exhibitors to the 10th edition of Propak Vietnam 2015 are highly encouraged to attend the seminars scheduled from 1-2 April 2015. Local and regional organisations are preparing for these sessions which will tackle pressing issues on food safety, green packaging and eco manufacturing.
Processing Technologies for Nutrition and Food Safety The Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology (VAFoST) will host Processing Technologies for Nutrition and Food Safety on April 1 with the participation of high-profile speakers. With focus on food safety management systems and excellence in quality assurance, the seminar will cover innovations in technology and machinery, training and development for the food industry manpower toward ASEAN Economic Community and R&D trends for nutrition and food safety.
Professor Luu Dzuan, a newly ordained Fellow of International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST), vice president of Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology, dean of the Food Technology department of Saigon University of Technology will be the keynote speaker. Se said, “For many years, Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology has been striving to support the food industry in Vietnam not only in their knowledge development but also in building and bringing the Vietnamese brands to the international market. We have built up many activities every year to fulfill these meaningful missions. This seminar is one of those activities. We strongly believe in ProPak Vietnam 2015 as the leading trade event for the industry.”
International Standardization leads to updating & improvement in the Food Safety Management System: ISO 22.000:2005 This seminar will be presented by Lean Six Sigma Network on April 2.

Green Packaging and Eco Manufacturing in Vietnam 2015 Sharing insights into sustainable packaging are the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME) from Singapore (the organiser of the Singapore Country Group Pavilion), the International Enterprises Singapore, the Packaging Council of Singapore (PCS), Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and Singapore Business Group (SBG).
“Some of the members in Packaging Council of Singapore (PCS) had been awarded in the WorldStar Packaging 2015,” said Mr Teri Teo, Winringo (S) Pte Ltd, a key member of Singapore Country Group Pavilion and in-charge of the seminar. “We hope to give our members a platform to showcase the WorldStar Packaging 2015 and having seminar and conference on top of Singapore Pavilion at ProPak Vietnam 2015 will be perfect idea. We hope to share our latest technology and our experience with the industry in Vietnam and the areas as well as getting the ripped contribution from the delegations.”
ProPak Vietnam takes place on 31 March to 2 April 2015 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre where about 210 companies from 18 countries are confirmed to attend, said organisers. It will host at least eight international groups: Germany, Korea (2 groups), Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore.
According to Udo Wiemann, project manager of the Germany Country Group Pavilion, “As Vietnam with its fast growing economy is also one of the key markets, there is a big potential for our companies in joining ProPak Vietnam. With our return in this year’s edition, we believe that our participation can build more awareness for our participating companies as well as create opportunities to strengthen business relationships with local partners.”
Masahiro Abe, deputy secretary-general from Japan Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association, the organiser of Japan Country Group Pavilion said, “This year is the fifth time we are exhibiting at ProPak Vietnam. We strongly believe that this event is a valuable and trustful channel for us to reach our customers.”
