Inaugural event held in Lagos, Nigeria surpasses expectations

PROPAK West Africa 2012, which took place from September 4-6, 2012 at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, has been an enormous success, reports organiser Montgomery West Africa.

A brand new show dedicated to the packaging, food processing, printing, labelling and plastics industries in West Africa, the show witnessed three highly successful and well-attended days.

Held in conjunction with FoodPro West Africa, Pro-Label West Africa and Print Expo West Africa – PROPAK West Africa 2012 provided exhibitors with the ideal opportunity to explore and expand business opportunities in the West African region, whilst providing visitors from all over Africa with the prospects to source from the widest range of suppliers. This is according to Lydia Botha, New Business Development manager, Montgomery West Africa.

“Many of our exhibitors have also reported that they were very pleased by the visitor attendance at the show, and many have said that they have managed to secure highly positive sales leads,” says Ms Botha.

PROPAK West Africa was officially opened by the Honourable Minister for Trade & Investment in Nigeria, Chief Samuel Ortom on Tuesday, 4 September, who emphasised that the Federal

Government of Nigeria, as well as the Directors of Federal Ministry for Trade & Investment, has been fully supportive of PROPAK West Africa from the outset.

“The objectives as set out by the organisers of PROPAK West Africa are in direct alignment with the Federal Government’s desire to increase foreign investment into the Nigerian economy and to open up more business opportunities in Africa,” said Chief Ortom. “PROPAK West Africa also has an important role to play in transforming Nigeria into a modern industrial nation and repositioning trade and investment as the hub of the economy.”
