A BRAND new show dedicated to the packaging, food processing, printing, labelling and plastics industries in West Africa witnessed three highly successful and well-attended days. PROPAK West Africa 2012, which took place from 4-6 September 2012 at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, was an enormous success, reports organiser Montgomery West Africa.
Held in conjunction with FoodPro West Africa, Pro-Label West Africa and Print Expo West Africa, the event provided exhibitors with the ideal opportunity to explore and expand business opportunities in the West African region. Visitors from all over Africa were provided with prospects to source from the widest range of suppliers.
“Many of our exhibitors have also reported that they were very pleased by the visitor attendance at the show, and many have said that they have managed to secure highly positive sales leads,” said Lydia Botha, New Business Development manager, Montgomery West Africa.
Exhibitors came from various parts of the globe such as China, France, India, Italy, Nigeria, South Africa and Turkey. Leading company names included Thermo Fisher Scientific, Heidelberg Nigeria Limited, Oakmond Nigeria Limited and Polyoak Packaging (Pty) Ltd.
“This show also afforded visitors the chance to see some of the latest industry innovations, extend their network of contacts and learn more about some of the leading trends from around the world,” Ms Botha said.
The PROPAK West Africa Seminar Programme also proved to be extremely popular with the show’s visitors. “There are so many exciting trends in this industry and this seminar provided a great opportunity for visitors to gain ideas on how to turn innovative technology into lucrative business opportunities,” Ms Botha commented.
“We have long recognised the potential for a packaging, printing, labelling, plastics and food processing event in the West African region, and all preliminary reports from the show so far indicate that this investment has paid dividends,” she added. “We look forward to exploring other opportunities in the West African region for the future.”
