SNIEC is jointly owned by German Exposition Corp., a joint subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, Messe Duesseldorf GmbH and Messe Muenchen GmbH, and Shanghai Lujiazui Exhibition Development Co.,Ltd.

This joint venture has developed to be the most successful exhibition centre in China.

SNIEC offers 17 column-free, ground-level exhibition halls, covering 200,000 sqm of indoor space and 100000 sqm of outdoor space. Since officially opened on November 2, 2001, SNIEC has made a rapid development with annually welcoming more than 3 million guests and around 80 world-class exhibitions. As a multi-functional venue, SNIEC also caters to a diverse range of both social and corporate events. The unprecedented success of SNIEC, the Chinese-German exhibition project, evidences the role, the exhibition industry plays in the breathtaking economic development of China and East Asia. The involved three globally leading German exhibition organisers have demonstrated their strength and know-how in a highly competitive market, and their ambitions to contribute to the Chinese and Asian exhibition industry.

Situated in Pudong Shanghai, an international commercial, economic, financial, trade and shipping center, SNIEC serves to strengthen the global economic relations as a platform for significant international trade fairs.

SNIEC is located half way between Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao Airport, 33 km away from Pudong International Airport to the east, and 32 km away from Hongqiao Airport to the west.
