The Italian Trade Commission (ICE), as a government agency, aims at consolidating and developing Italian-Chinese investment. The committee, established in 1965, has currently set up seven offices in China. Every year Shanghai office holds at 15 to 20 exhibitions in different themes to let Chinese people acquire a better understanding of the Italian products and further open the China market. In recent years, under the joint efforts of both sides, the trade and commerce between the two countries have developed steadily.
The Shanghai office attends PTC as the representatives of Italian Trade Commission. Italy has been a global leader in the field of power transmission and control technology, and has enjoyed a high popularity in the China market. Maurizio Forte, trade Commissioner in Shanghai office, stated that Italian products in the hydraulic industry has been well favoured by Chinese customers, and this success rely on its superior quality. The Commission estimated that volume of imports is expected to reach US$300 million this year. Forte said that it is the fifth times in a row for ICE to participate in PTC.
