Purac to offer PLA resins

THROUGH its products, Purac intends to help plastics manufacturers ease the shift from oil-based to bioplastics production. The company will be presenting samples of its latest polylactic acid (PLA) resins to brand owners, converters and compounders who are interested in exploring the benefits of high performance bioplastics. These include PLLA homopolymer resins, PDLA homopolymer resins, PLA compounded blends containing PLLA, as well as PDLA homopolymers. Last year, Purac sponsored the Perpetual Plastic Project which underscores the recyclability of PLA-based plastics (in photo). The project has successfully created a do-it-yourself, interactive ‘Machine’, which provides users with a small-scale demonstration of how easily PLA can be recycled.
