QAEC to build aluminium extrusion plant

Qatar Aluminium Extrusion Co. (QAEC) has revealed plans to construct an aluminium extrusion plant at the New Salwa Industrial Area. The project, which is expected to be completed by 10 months from date of inception, will involve a capital expenditure of QR72 million ($19.8 million). The plant will produce extruded/surface treated aluminium products, such as profiles, rods and bars to meet the increasing demand of the residential and commercial construction industry. On 11 February 2010, QAEC signed a construction contract with Al Alia Trading and Contracting Company of Qatar to construct the plant with the associated infrastructure.
