Qatar's construction industry to grow 12% per annum

It would appear the potential of Qatar's construction industry knows no boundaries. Recent rapid growth includes projects including Doha Festival City mall, which expects a 1.6 million footfall by 2014, and the newly completed Muraikh Tower in the city's latest urban hub.

Initiatives such as these are cementing the country's position as the third greatest development market in the GCC region - meaning the future looks bright for the Middle Eastern state.In fact a study by Research and Markets has suggested the construction industry will grow at a rate of 12% per annum until 2015. This is driven by the surge of investments created by its successful bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2022, and substantiated by the Qatar National Vision for 2030 programme - and its total spending kitty of US$800 billion.
