RathGibson to offer electropolished tubing education at INTERPHEX 2013

The event for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies will be held from April 23 to 25 at the Javits Center in New York, New York, USA.

Paul Sedivy, Director - High Purity Products said, "RathGibson's authentic electropolished tubing exceeds the ASME BPE SF4 standard. The surface roughness of our True15? electropolished tubing is 15 μ-in. Ra (0.4 μm) ID maximum. For electropolished tubing with a 10 μ-in. Ra (0.25 μm) ID maximum surface finish, we manufacture True10? tubing. Both tubing types are ideal for ultra high purity applications."

RathGibson's proprietary electropolishing process, which is performed at their Janesville, Wisconsin plant, is kept under the company's strict control. Only raw material that has been produced under RathGibson's unique melt criteria are used. The metal is continuously roll-formed before it is welded. Tubing that has passed borescope inspection is then electropolished in-house.

After electropolishing has been completed, the tubes are then brought into the industry's leading ISO 14644-1 Class 5 Clean Room. Visual inspection of the tubing is conducted according to the specifications outlined by the ASME BPE standard. The tubing is then purged with 99.9999% pure Nitrogen before they are capped, polyamid patched and placed in protective 6-mil poly sleeves. Packaging in wood boxes provides further protection of the tubing during shipment. Traceability is ensured with heat and batch numbers in the tubing's line markings and on the labels.
