GULFOOD 2010, the Middle East's largest food, drink, foodservice and hospitality exhibition, ended on a high note with record numbers of exhibitors, visitors and business deals reported for the four day trade-only show. Held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from 21 - 24 February, this year's event was the biggest in the show's 15-year history. More than a million square feet of dedicated exhibition space was allocated to 3,500 companies from 81 countries around the world. Attendance rose by 18% to 55,379 trade visitors from 153 countries, making Gulfood one of the biggest food shows in the world. "As the all encompassing platform for businesses in the food and beverage industry, Gulfood has delivered tangible business benefits for both exhibitors showcasing their products and services and trade visitors sourcing the same," said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre, organiser of the exhibition.
