The renovated headquarters will welcome employees come summer 2015

SHOWCASING its vision for the future, plastics extrusion specialist Reifenh?user recently celebrated the topping out ceremony for the renovation of its headquarters. A mere four months after work on the building started in June, guests were treated to a glimpse of how the administration building, which dates back to 1974, will look like after all the improvements and refurbishments.

According to Klaus Reifenh?user, one of the family’s three managing directors of the Reifenh?user Group, “This phase of renovating our headquarters is especially exciting for us. Every day we can watch how everything is taking shape, growing, and becoming a marvelous perspective for us and the city of Troisdorf.”

Reifenh?user renovation

Oriented toward the future with the latest building technology: A total of 200 of these elements, each weighing a tonne, will be mounted in the high-rise office building’s facade

The building shell will be closed beginning November so work in the interior part can commence.  About 300 new workplaces will be created on an area of 7,000sqm. These workplaces will feature the most advanced standards in terms of technique, energy, equipment, and ergonomics. With construction work on schedule, the revitalized headquarters is expected to welcome employees by summer of 2015.

The renovation covers the facade revitalization in alignment with the Energy Saving Ordinance and renewal of the building’s technical equipment such as air conditioning, heating, ventilation, sanitary facilities, electrical systems, and lifts. The sixth floor will be extended to a full storey, while a stepped seventh storey that can accommodate 100 persons and can be used for events will be added. In addition, an ergonomic and attractive working environment with the most advanced communications technology will be created.

As the first storeys are already visible, guests at the ceremony were given a glimpse as to what lies ahead.   Digressing from the typical topping out wreath, the ceremony involved a crane lifting one of the huge facade elements up in the air before fitting it accurately into the outer facade. Through the month of November, a total of 200 of these elements each weighing 1 tonne will be mounted on the high-rise building.

Once the facade of the 32-meter high building is closed, work on the complex interior will begin. This will cover the installation of the latest building technology comprising a new combined heat and power plant.
