ROMACO marks the end of the first joint fiscal year since acquiring Cologne, Germany-based Kilian Tableting GmbH on a high note. With Kilian’s order volume posting a growth of 15% to surpass original targets, Romaco is now strongly positioned to offer tableting and packaging solutions from a single source. It has achieved its objective of breaking into new pharmaceutical and healthcare markets with all-in-one solutions for tableting and packing pharmaceutical solids.
Kilian made its début in the Romaco Group with the launch of the Kilian KTP X series of high-tech tablet presses. The company introduced the KTP 420X model at Interpack 2014 in Dusseldorf, Germany and the KTP 720X at P-MEC 2014 in Mumbai, India. Both Romaco Kilian prototypes were sold directly at the respective exhibitions.
The award-winning KTP 420X is available in three configurations: For mono-layer tablets, for bi-layer tablets, and tab-in-tab
The Kilian KTP 420X was named by an international jury of experts as winner of the “iF product design award 2014” for its combination of minimalism and high quality, a reflection of Romaco Group’s design expertise. Meanwhile, Romaco Kilian’s CWC in-line scale is the world’s first solution for continuous weight control.
Developed for pharmaceutical production, the new generation of high-speed tablet presses boasts numerous patented features and extremely low total cost of ownership (TCO). Romaco Group’s end-to-end solution strategy and associated services can benefit both multinational pharmaceutical corporations and contract manufacturers.
The Group continues to boost efforts to expand Kilian’s research and development activities. According to Jörg Pieper, spokesman of the Kilian Tableting GmbH Board of Management, “The market launch of the Kilian KTP X series was a renewed demonstration of our innovative vitality which made a lasting impression on both our customers and our competitors. This positive business development is clearly reflected in our sales figures.”
Building on the united expertise of the Kilian, Siebler, and Promatic product lines, the Romaco Group was able to create groundbreaking synergetic effects that enable a direct connection between tablet presses and primary, secondary, and final packaging solutions. It signed last year several contracts with customers in the U.S. and China for integrated strip packaging lines.
Romaco Group CEO Paulo Alexandre said, “Thanks to Kilian’s successful integration in the Romaco Group and the reorganization of our worldwide network of agents, we managed to strengthen our position enormously last year in the international pharmaceutical markets. We intend to maintain our commitment to all-in-one solutions for the pharmaceutical industry in the future and extend our global reach in specific segments.”
