RS, a trading brand of RS Group plc (LSE: RS1), a global omni-channel provider of product and service solutions, is launching an extended range of RS Pro products and service offerings to further equip the industrial industry with the means to boost energy efficiency. This is especially imperative as Southeast Asia is among the regions hardest hit by climate change, as reported by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report. RS has launched these offerings at Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific 2022 (ITAP 2022) held in-person in Singapore on 18th October 2022.
“Two of the biggest challenges faced by the industry today are climate change and rising costs. As a one-stop shop, RS aims to support businesses in navigating these challenges beyond equipping them with an extensive range of high-quality products. We want to concurrently provide reliable solutions and services to help businesses become more energy efficient and to digitize in order to successfully tackle unprecedented situations,” says Eileen Yap, Singapore Country Manager at RS.
RS' extended RS Pro product range aims to support businesses to elevate their energy efficiency in the long run. It includes new products focused on reducing energy consumption from building facilities and the production line, solar panel solutions, smart lighting options and high-efficiency power supplies. Energy metres, power supplies and lighting, PPEs and tool kits are available in the range - all of which can help deliver an average of 23% in cost savings to leading brand alternatives, and improved energy savings and efficiency.
Aside from energy efficiency, more businesses are also seeking technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve efficiency along the production line and ultimately, save on costs.
“Production costs have been rising rapidly due to high utility costs, labour costs and material shortages. Companies are investing heavily on IoT technology to automate production lines and to ensure quality of production. One such investment is the use of SMART tools with built-in artificial intelligence technology to help them analyse measured signals quickly and efficiently. With this data, companies can detect early symptoms of abnormality in their machinery and get a head start on risk mitigation to eliminate disruption to production. Fluke has launched many solutions in recent years that simplify laborious analytical tasks by incorporating built-in analysis capabilities in our tools. Troubleshooting tasks that used to take hours or days can now be reduced significantly to minutes.” says Jeremy Ang, Product & Marketing Director at Fluke, RS supplier.
Responding to this demand, RS has included over 300 products in its RS Pro IoT range, including IO-link sensors, data cables and HMI displays, antennas and network testing equipment. From wireless pressure transducers, to help safely monitor pressure in hazardous or inaccessible locations, to sensor boxes, which are compatible with all sensor brands, RS’ Industrial IoT range allows users to improve their operational efficiency.
“The future can only be green if we embed sustainability into our business practices and strategic operations. At Phoenix Contact, we strive to develop a portfolio of sustainable solutions to cultivate an ecosystem where stakeholders and partners alike are empowered to achieve their own sustainability goals,” says Mark Ong, Corporate Marketing Director, Phoenix Contact SEA, RS supplier.
Beyond products, RS’ eProcurement platform helps users reduce waste by enabling transparency and greater control over spend. This can be seamlessly integrated into businesses’ existing procurement systems, removing complexity across processes. RS also continues to offer free and flexible delivery options, local product and technical support, and local stock holding to ensure efficiency and reliability of supply.
"Companies need to acknowledge that they can do better and must prioritise sustainability throughout their business as a whole. The key is to understand how and where energy is consumed, lost or wasted and here, digital technologies are vital. We are proud to have RS as our valued digital partner for Sustainability and Efficiency.” says Ray Ong, Head of Sales for Schneider Electric Singapore, RS supplier.
RS will showcase products from the extended RS Pro product range, and their solutions and services at ITAP 2022 with their supply partners, Schneider Electric, Fluke, and Phoenix Contact.
