Sacmi attains inspection certification from Pepsi

SACMI has been certified by Pepsi to execute thorough inspection on all its bottling line components. Tests on bottles, preforms, plastic and crown caps for use by the soft drink giant can be checked and certified at Sacmi Imola’s Research & Development facility. The company operates with Pepsi-authorised laboratories worldwide that perform the same tests, in order to ensure validity and repeatability of the attained results.

This milestone, which was announced in 30 May 2014, is brought on by years of hard work and commitment at Sacmi’s Beverage and Closures&Containers divisions, and investments in machinery and skill are now paying off. The Sacmi Research Centre is crucial to the Sacmi Group and a key service supplier to the various business areas in which it operates.

Also in May, Sacmi opened two companies Africa, adding to its existing sales and technical assistance network in the region. Sacmi North Africa, established in Casablanca, Morocco, is a joint venture (Sacmi is the majority shareholder) with a key local partner and one of Morocco’s biggest bottlers which also does business in the service and tele-communications sectors. The other is Sacmi South Africa, a 100% Sacmi-owned enterprise established in Cape Town.
