Sacmi eyes more growth in Bangladesh

The company highlights advantages of compression technology for beverage at the IPF fair at Dhaka from 20-23 January 2016

THE latest Sacmi sales data for Bangladesh includes six complete cap manufacturing lines using compression technology which the company itself designed and supplied.

Sacmi Group is reinforcing its role as major partner of global beverage brands that operate in the country and the local producers that require technological solutions to grow in this dynamic market. Such solutions regard both CSD and – according to the most recent data – non-carbonated drinks, mineral water and fruit juices.

Sample closures from Sacmi

Sacmi has supplied solutions to Padma which invested in the first complete CSD line for the production of two-piece caps back in 2004. It now boasts no less than three complete installed lines in which Group-built compression presses play a pivotal role. Apart from these, Sacmi recently completed orders for Partex Beverage, Pran and Ast Beverages, which cover the entire range of solutions Sacmi provides for such manufacturing types.

Having provided these integrated plant engineering solutions, Sacmi claims a unique role as a pivotal global player in the industry. It has innovated international closure manufacturing standards and was the first to develop CCM (Continuous Compression Moulding) technology.

Continuous Compression Moulding (48-cavity model)

The CCM range is currently offered in versions having from 24 to 80 cavities suitable for the manufacture of both single-piece and two-piece caps at very high output rates (up to and beyond 2000 caps per minute for the 48-cavity model).

In addition to the inherent advantages of compression technology – lower extrusion temperature with consequent energy savings and extended machine life, higher cap quality and very short cycle times - Sacmi has, in recent years, implemented innovations crucial to boosting press performance even further. Such solutions include the COOL+ enhanced cooling mould. On the market since 2013, dozens of such moulds have already been installed all over the world; compared to alternative technologies, the mould gives a further reduction in cycle times of some 35%. Then, there are devices to produce ever-better performing caps (weight remaining equal) as part of a wider green packaging approach and efforts to optimise energy/raw material consumption and transport costs.

Sacmi has a facility in Dhaka for after-sales assistance service as well as customer support including design with customized turnkey plant engineering solutions.  The company is exhibiting at stand 658 at the IPF 2016, which expects some 20,000 visitors when it opens in 20-23 January at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center.
