Sandvik Coromant and Mazak Thailand hold technology day

Metal cutting leader Sandvik Coromant hosted a joint technology day with Mazak Thailand, partnered with CGTech, to showcase some of its most popular tooling solutions. More than 65 participants attended the event including key customers such as Mitsubishi, Denso and Caterpillar to learn about Sandvik Coromant’s latest product offering.

The technology day saw Sandvik Coromant explore its latest cutting tools and solutions such as CoroMill® Dura, CoroMill® MF80, Y-axis turning tool holders and Vending Tool Logistics (VTL), followed by live machining demonstrations conducted by Sandvik Coromant’s yellow coat experts.

Mazak Thailand and CGTech also presented their latest tool offerings, including Vericut Force module that analyses and optimises cutting conditions throughout CNC Program operations. Each presentation was then concluded by a question-and-answer session to encourage customer engagement and feedback on the presented tools.

“The industry is constantly evolving, and with that come changes to software and digital tools,” said Sunya Ratsamee, Regional Sales Manager for Thailand at Sandvik Coromant. “As a result, customers are showing more interest in new technology. For Sandvik Coromant, it’s crucial to ensure our customers are consistently updated on changes to technology and how this impacts their processes and can improve their position in the market.

“The joint technology day with Mazak Thailand was an opportunity for customers to learn about the most innovative cutting tools, software and machines on the market. The more they know, the better they perform. This was aided through formal presentations, but most importantly, live demonstrations from Sandvik Coromant product experts, which provide great insight and understanding into how the tools work.

“Due to the high competition in the market now, customers are constantly searching for new technologies to reduce costs and increase competitiveness. The event, like the one held with Mazak Thailand are extremely beneficial in facilitating this.
