Savola with leading Saudi firms at Accenta

COOKING oils and sugar giant, Savola Group, was amongst the Middle East's leading companies to participate in Accenta 2011 in Ghent, where the group showcased basic food commodities as well plastic products and retail activities in September.

Saudi Arabia was at Accenta, one of Europe's largest and oldest trade fairs,  upon the invitation of Albert II, the king of Belgium. The Saudi pavilion,  organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, hosted the Kingdom's most prominent companies and key government institutions. The Saudi-European Economic Forum on the first day of the trade fair also highlighted the  importance of the Kingdom's trade relationship with Belgium.

Savola is the world's largest cooking oil producer and the largest producer  of refined sugar in the Middle East with an annual production capacity of 2.6  mn tons through its refineries in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The group also produces flexible plastic packaging materials, and is a leading producer of PET in the GCC, exporting its products to more than 15 countries worldwide.
