Sealing foil increases shelf life

HEADSPACE oxygen exerts a substantial influence on the accelerated deterioration of filling materials, amongst others. It reacts with the contents.
This problem has been taken on by Meyer Seals, Europe's leading supplier of sealing inserts.
In co-operation with the Fraunhofer Institute, Meyer Seals developed a liner that combines the proven tamper-evident induction seal liner with the ability to absorb oxygen contained in the headspace. This new developed product can be sealed to all common container materials.
 ALKOflex O2-sorb is a one-piece sealing insert, that enables a peelable induction sealing of untreated glasses as well as plastic containers made of PE, PP, PET or PVC. In addition, it is equipped with a oxygen-absorbing layer. The sealing insert includes the well known tamperevident sealing, and in addition a product protection by absorption of oxygen that is located in the headspace after the sealing process or that migrates in to the container over time.
