Senaat, Ducab form aluminium joint venture

Senaat (General Holding Corporation) and Ducab on Wednesday announced the formation of joint venture ‘Ducab Aluminium’, according to a joint statement. The establishment of Dubcab Aluminium aims to capitalise on the growing market demand for aluminium rods and conductors within the Mena (Middle East and North Africa) region, according to the two companies.

Under the new joint venture, the two companies will build a 50,00 tpa (tonnes per annum) aluminium rod mill in the Khalifa Industrial Zone of Abu Dhabi (Kizad) at an estimated cost of Dh220 million (USE$59 million).

Senaat CEO Suhail Bin Athaeeth stated the new joint venture was a testament to industrial assets in the UAE. "This new joint venture with Ducab is a testament to our ability to successfully create, optimise and champion industrial assets in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, creating value and further expanding the country’s industrial capabilities," Athaeeth stated.

The new company will initially target the GCC and Mena markets with possible expansion opportunities in Europe and the Indian subcontinent. The mill will be located near the Emirates Aluminium (Emal) smelter within Kizad.Air Max 95 20th Anniversary Flyknit
