Family-owned packaging machinery company, Serac has reached a new milestone in its development by becoming the world leader in the manufacture of cup packaging machines. With sales of 30 million euros for its Cup division and more than 1,000 machines and dosing systems installed at major customers such as Nestlé, Andros, Danone, Lactalis, etc., the company is taking the lead in the global market and is targeting 30% growth over three years.
The newly-created Cup division is the result of the successful integration of two key Serac subsidiaries, Nova and Doselec, each bringing unique expertise and technology in Cup filling industry. Nova, located in France at Courville sur Eure near Chartres, was acquired in 2004, and this summer doubled the surface area of its workshop dedicated to machine production. As for Doselec, based in Falaise, Calvados (Normandy), newly acquired in January of this year, it has enabled Serac to broaden its product range and strengthen its market presence. This division will be headed by Olivier Péru, who was previously Director of Nova.
Nova, subsidiary of Serac Group, doubled the surface area of its workshop this summer
This division was created against a backdrop of strong worldwide demand for dairy products and, more generally, for food products in cup, which according to several studies is set to grow by 16% between now and 2026.
Serac's Cup division offers a diversified range of filling machines, covering a variety of food products, and in particular dairy products such as yoghurts, cheeses, cream desserts, and fresh or cooked dairy desserts. Three types of filling solutions are offered: the rotary machine, a compact filling/capping solution that can produce up to 12,000 pots per hour. The linear filling machine, which can produce up to 65,000 cups per hour. And last but not least, the dosing unit, a veritable concentration of expertise, designed for integration on Fill & Seal, Form Fill & Seal and pouch filling machines.
The creation of this division was announced at the end of September at the inauguration of the Nova workshop extension. The event, attended by over 100 people, was marked by a festive atmosphere and great enthusiasm. Guests - local personalities, members of Serac's management and board of directors, employees and members of the press - were able to discover the new facilities and the machines used in the new workshop.
The inauguration speeches, which preceded the ribbon-cutting ceremony, were delivered by Rose Graffin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Serac Holding, and Olivier Péru, Managing Director of Nova and head of the Cup division. They expressed their pride in this expansion and the strategic importance of the new division to the company's future growth.
During the day, guided tours of the newly expanded workshop were organized, allowing guests to get up close and personal with the state-of-the-art equipment and production processes.
Nova Workshop
The event concluded with a closing cocktail party where guests exchanged impressions and outlooks for the future. All in all, the inauguration of Nova's workshop extension was a memorable occasion, marking the start of a new era of innovation and growth for the company.
