Shide Corp. builds large-scale profile extrusion plant

PVC window and door giant Dalian Shide Plastics Industry Co. Ltd. is spending up to 1 billion yuan ($149 million) on a factory complex in the northern city of Changchun, Jilin province, with capacity of 160,000 metric tonnes of profiles annually. The company, based in Dalian in the province of Liaoning, said the initial phase would be an investment of 750 million yuan ($112 million) with production of 120,000 metric tonnes. This would be the company's eighth facility and would boost total capacity to over 900,000 metric tonnes in China. Shide is considered one of the world's larges t producer s of sect ional PVC building materials, and its parent, Dalian Shide Group has investments in finance, insurance and hospitals.
