Siemens is holding its biennial “Siemens Process Industries and Drives User Conference & Exhibition” (SPACe) in Bali, Indonesia from August 19 – 21, 2015.

Themed with “Greater reliability, safety, and efficiency – through innovative, integrated technology and expertise”, the conference focuses on automation, technology and challenges, as well as drives topics that are shaping Process Industries today.

SPACe is a platform that Siemens’ user community and potential users can leverage to gain knowledge from industry experts, discover more about Siemens technologies and network with fellow users and Siemens technical experts. The activity line-up over the course of the three days includes breakout sessions, microfair exhibits and industry workshops that attendees can choose to participate in according to their specialization and interests.

Josef Winter, President Director and CEO, PT Siemens Indonesia said, “This year, we are delighted to hold SPACe in Indonesia, a fast-growing manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. Through the conference, we aim to strengthen our relationship with Siemens users in Southeast Asia & Australia by engaging them in learning platforms such as the presentation of case studies, infoshops and networking activities. This is our chance to put our ear to the ground and listen to the challenges and industry requirements of our users to better provide them with relevant technology solutions.”

In light of the imminent ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2015, set to commence by the end of this year, Indonesian industries and manufacturers especially need to level up their competitiveness by harnessing innovative technologies that can optimize productivity and ensure the highest efficiency. SPACe is a good opportunity for users and industry professionals in Indonesia to network and exchange insights on industry best practices.

David Ong, Chairman of SPACe User Advisory Board said, “SPACe is an enriching platform where the gathering of the users, partners and Siemens experts from different parts of the world allows for ideas to be shared and opinions to be voiced. It is an added bonus to be able to learn from our peers and gain first-hand access to new technologies and its creative applications.”

At the conference, participants can expect to gather useful information from case studies presented by experts equipped with technological knowledge, market insights and industry experiences. The microfair exhibits are showcasing the latest innovations in the field of manufacturing technologies while the infoshops are set out to enhance the technical knowledge of users in a wide variety of topics through lecture sessions.

Stefanus Arif, Head of Digital Factory Division and Head of Process Industries and Drives Division, PT Siemens Indonesia commented, “We are excited to be able to connect as well as share our insights and expertise with Siemens’ user community to help them overcome the various industry challenges that they face using our range of innovative solutions.”

The latest range of Siemens’ innovative technologies on display at SPACe include the company’s COMOS software, a comprehensive, globally integrated software solution that enables a continuous flow of data across the entire lifecycle of an industrial plant. Also part of the line-up is the SIMATIC PCS 7 Process Control System. PCS 7 allows manufacturers to respond quickly to changes in market requirements and ensures the continuous operation of systems.

Next on the list is Siemens’ Integrated Drive Systems (IDS). IDS allows companies to integrate a drive train seamlessly in their applications to enable faster time to market and enhanced reliability. Finally, Industry 4.0 and digitalization features heavily at the event as a means for manufacturers to maximize productivity and efficiency through networked machinery and access to information in the form of virtual models and data.

Over 200 participants can be expected to attend this year’s conference.
