Sikora highlights quality control products at Arabplast 2015

The manufacturer of measuring, control, inspection, and sorting technology will demonstrate its Purity Scanner system. Designed for the online inspection and sorting of raw materials, the product is targeted at polymer manufacturers, compounders, and processing companies and recyclers in the plastic industry.

Equipped for 100% pellet inspection, the system detects contaminations of 50μm at a flow rate of up to 2,000kg/h in raw materials. It can be used for applications in the medical technology, automotive, and aircraft manufacturing fields, or in those that require 100% purity such as high-voltage and submarine cables.

The Purity Scanner system separates and sorts out contaminated pellets to ensure that only pure pellets get into the extrusion process. With a special combination of X-ray technology and an optical system, it can also detect organic and metallic contaminations inside the pellet and on its surface.

Sikora will also present the Laser Series 6000 diameter measuring devices, an addition to its successful Laser Series 2000.

Available in three models for different product diameters from 0.2 to 78 mm, the Laser 6000 series are designed to meet customer requirements exceeding classic demands in the hose and tube industry. The gauges feature high accuracy and reliability, and a variety of interface connection options to ensure optimal quality control during hose and tube extrusion. They can detect lumps and neckdowns.

Sikora will likewise showcase the Lump 2000 XY/T 2- or 3-axis lump detectors at Arabplast 2015. The company will also present the X-ray 6000 Pro for single and multilayered products. The X-ray 6000 series enables the continuous measurement of the inner and outer diameter, wall thickness, eccentricity, and ovality in hose and tube extrusion lines. This enables online quality control and optimization of the material usage for increased productivity during the extrusion. When used with the ECOCONTROL 600, 1000 or 6000 processor system, the product enables the automatic control of the line.
