Singapore manufacturing drives growth

Gross domestic product grew 1.4% on a seasonally adjusted and annualized basis compared with the previous quarter, according to advance estimates released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Manufacturing output grew 10.1% year over year, after a 4.8% gain in the fourth quarter. Services output grew 3.8% while the construction sector contracted 4.4%, the data showed.
