Sistep-Mideast 2012: Wraps up successfully

SISTEP-MIDEST 2012, the Moroccan trade show dedicated to industrial subcontracting, machinery, equipment and services for industry, took place from 19-22 September 2012 at the Office des Foires et Expositions de Casablanca (OFEC). It achieved excellent results both in terms of quantity and quality and welcomed a representative array of international participants, as well as a highly qualified body of visitors.

It is a success that firmly anchors the show as a major industrial meeting point for Morocco and one that is destined to become increasingly important and to play a vital role in the country’s development plan.

Over its four days SISTEP-MIDEST attracted 3,917 visitors from 33 countries in North Africa, other parts of Africa and Europe. About 16% came from outside Morocco, with the largest numbers coming from France (6%), Spain, Turkey, Tunisia and Italy. They included some thirty major African and European customers, who were invited as guests of Maroc Export in order to meet exhibitors and to forge constructive relationships for the future.

These professionals were able to meet 191 exhibitors from some fifteen countries occupying 6,000 m2 of exhibition space. These included numerous global leaders and there was a very strong foreign presence. In fact 60% of the exhibitors originated from countries outside Morocco, including: Algeria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Tunisia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

The business meetings organised by b2fair were a great success: 1,050 face-to-face meetings were held over the four days and involved no fewer than 120 companies. The organisers highlighted a clear improvement in quality through the staging of top quality meetings involving both Moroccan and international visitors and exhibitors.
