SKF launches bearing, hub unit in Jinan

SKF has inaugurated its new bearing and hub unit factory in Jinan, Shandong Province in China. The new factory will support the continued growth of SKF’s business in China and Asia.

The factory, built according to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standard will provide tapered roller bearings and SKF Split Truck Hub Units for the truck market, as well as serve the industrial markets and the vehicle aftermarket. The investment amounts to around SEK 590 million. The factory is now operational and employs around 500 people.

SKF developed the SKF Split Truck Hub Unit to meet the current and future needs of the commercial vehicle industry to raise productivity through longer service life and reduced maintenance. The unit consists of a split outer ring enabling a cost effective manufacturing process, meeting local customer requirements.
