Software solution determines nutritional profile of processed foods

BY December 2016, the EU will require food manufacturers to conform to a new labelling regulation whereby complete nutritional information shall be stated on all processed food labels.

This adds to an earlier directive that took effect in 2014, requiring manufacturers to provide clear, accurate and comprehensive information about their products. Data such as nutritional values, sources of ingredients, allergen information, types of oil, presence of nanomaterials, freezing/defrosting, and all other information pertaining to a product, have to be declared and stated clearly in labels.

This may take time and effort, however using software that can analyze product profiles can make the job easier for food manufacturers, especially those targeting the EU market.
