"BuiltWorks is flexible to enable external best of breed vertical market products from AEC and Plant industries to be linked to SolidWorks establishing communication chain within and between companies involved in the design, analysis, fabrication and construction of industrial facilities, buildings and structures,” said Dr. Vladimir Popov, CEO of SolidACE. “BuiltWorks can read and save data in popular industrial formats – SDNF (Steel Detailing Neutral Format), and CIS/2 (CIM steel Integration Standards). This ensures seamless and integrated round-trip data exchange and information flow between SolidWorks and Industrial design systems including those for structural steel detailing, analysis and fabrication”.
By extending supprot of CIS/2 interoperability format with the new release of BuiltWorks, it makes SolidWorks suitable for exchanging General Arrangement models with a variety of Plant Design Systems, such as Aveva PDMS, Intergraph PDS and SmartPlant 3D, Bentley AutoPlant and other.
Extended support of CIS/2 and SDNF formats in BuiltWorks alows SolidWorks users to effectivelly exchange intelligent steel data with a range of AEC industry applications, such as AutoCAD Structural Detailing, Bentley Structural Modeler and ProSteel, Graitec Advance Steel, Autodesk Revit Structure and other AEC Systems, as well as with high end applications for Structural Steel Design and Fabrication, namely - Tekla Structures, AceCad StruCAD, Design Data SDS/2 Detailing System and other.
Direct Bi-directional link from SolidWorks to STAAD.Pro, and import-export of CIS/2 Analysis Model with the support of SolidWorks native Weldments, makes BuiltWorks suitable for data exchange also with Structural Aanalysis and Design Systems, like Bentley STAAD.Pro and RAM Structural System, Dlubal RSTAB, CSi SAP2000 and ETABS, RISA-3D, Robot Structural Analysis and other.
Some of most important improvements of BuiltWorks interoperability features are:
*Support of SolidWorks native Weldments
*Export extrudes as structural plates
*Import structural plates as Imported Bodies
