Special films help save materials, energy

BISCHOF + Klein's broad range of industrial packaging manufactured from plastic was a hit at POWTECH 2014 in Nuremberg, Germany, where around 15,000 specialist visitors from 78 countries obtained information about the latest powder, granule and bulk material technologies. 

At the Lengerich-based film and packaging specialist's stand, the PowFlex? and SmartFlex? films aroused particular interest. These material- and energy-saving alternatives to the previously usual packaging technologies.

The sustainable packaging solutions from B+K struck a chord with trade fair visitors. "Our time at the trade fair was characterized by interesting discussions with customers and potential new customers as well as machine manufacturers," key account manager Rolf zum Dohme said. Majority of these partners were from Eastern Europe and non-European countries such as Iran, Israel and China.

The highly ventilatable and sift-proof PowFlex FFS film offers significant advantages in comparison with paper packaging, e.g. for mixtures containing cement. It is also suitable for packaging other hygroscopically sensitive products such as powdered chemicals or foodstuffs, and is additionally available in small formats.

SmartFlex stretch hood films reliably secure bulky and heavy goods on pallets without the use of heat. This saves energy in comparison with shrink films and eliminates any risk of fire.
