Stable Micro Systems expands measurement options

Those who are familiar with the TA.XT plus texture analyser from Stable Micro Systems will be interested in knowing that the company has launched another adjunct to go with this analyser. The Dynamic Integrated Balance allows analysts to measure an additional ‘weighing’ parameter during force measurement tests, thereby enhancing accuracy and rate of delivery.

This accessory will be advantageous especially in extrusion and actuation testing, where a product is removed or deposited from the component that is subject to testing, according to the company.  During such tests, the deposited amount of product can be weighed at the same time as force, distance and time data is collected at high speed. Once the test is complete, users are able to analyse the amount and rate at which the product was deposited on a second axis alongside their usual force data.

“The new weighing system can accurately collect data from 500 points per second as well as having other functional benefits including full mechanical overload protection of the loadcell and 100g sensitive capacity,” explains Jo Smewing, applications manager at Stable Micro Systems. It can be applied to food sachets and pouches, as well as non-food products.
