Sustainable palm oil supply announced

IOI Group, one of the world抯 largest palm oil producer, announced that from mid-2010 onwards that its IOI-Loders Croklaan Europe will become the first palm oil supplier in continental Europe to supply fully segregated, RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil. The announcement was made during a seminar on sustainable palm oil held last month in Paris. IOI-Loders Croklaan's ability to provide segregated palm oil is possible thanks to the opening of the company's new state-of-the- art refinery on the Rotterdam Maasvlakte in June 2010. This environmentally friendly refinery has the storage capacity, infrastructure and technology necessary to keep sustainable palm oil wholly segregated from other oils. The company is fully committed to the principles and criteria of the RSPO and believes that these offer the best roadmap to the development of a truly sustainable global palm oil industry. IOI was a founding member of the RSPO and actively participates in RSPO initiatives to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil.
