Investigations continue on the controversial incident involving Unilever’s supposed “negligent mistakes” in which 240 boxes of tainted cornflakes may have inadvertently reached consumers. Daily inspections are being conducted at the company’s plant as ordered by the local Health Ministry. The report from the Times of Israel said the Ministry suspended the manufacturing license of Unilever earlier last week.
According to a report in the Time of Israel, Unilever had initially refused to alert the public, saying that the boxes of tainted cereal had not left the plant, although these were no longer in the store rooms or in supermarket shelves.
The company’s Good Manufacturing Practice license is suspended until they carry out corrective action and report this to the authorities. The Unilever plant will be under inspection every day until the issue is resolved.
