As a manufacturer of bag-making machinery, JANDI'S accumulated experience not only focused on making bags but also in waste plastic materials recycling. The company will present its latest machinery which enables 100% recycling of waste materials. Mr. Jerry M. J. Huang, General Manager of JANDI'S, cited the advantages of the company’s new machinery.
What are the advanced features of JIT-SD T-Shirt bag making machine line?
Mr. Huang: In doing the T-shirt bag, there are three main general steps to follow. First is blown film, second is printing, and third is film sealing, which then followed by the waste recycling. The last action is being done to save on cost because during the processing, spare plastics trimming is necessary for making the T-shirt. Accordingly, recycling those trimmed plastics parts is one crucial point in the manufacturing process.
An examination of the producers' technology because colors, materials, and other parameters of the recycled waste plastics would change the end product. I have experienced dealing with these parameters so I integrated the above mentioned four steps into one machine to enable recycling the trimmed parts instantaneously during the processing. In this way, a great portion of raw materials is saved.
For people who use the old method, it takes 95 tonnes of plastics materials to produce 80 tonnes of end products. But now with JIT-SD it takes maximum 82 tonnes of raw materials to produce 80 tonnes of end products. Moreover, as we melt the waste with the perfect timing, molecular chains within those end products are much better.
How did you develop this recycling integration design?
Mr. Huang: The concept has been existing in the market but manufacturers only use it in ordinary square form bags. That type of products is simple because it needs not to be trimmed further. But in the T-shirt bag case, there is the sealing step which takes discontinuous movements during processing so many T-shirt bag producers encounter the issue of smoother procedures between blown film machine and sealing machine. They have problems in integrating machines for smoother operations, and we have done away with this problem as we have integrated the procedures already. Our machine thus gained five patents in Taiwan and another five in Mainland China. We are applying the patents for our control system and some other new improvements
With green manufacturing currently being the trend, do have some innovations you’d like to share with us?
Mr. Huang: We invented JIT-SD because we treasure our land and our resources. This machine can save on material consumption. But more than just material savings, the machine also saves on space since this single machine replaces four machines in the past. Customers who opt for this machine can save about half of the area in their factory. Besides machines, semi-manufacturer storage is also saved for about half. For instance, if one producer makes 80 tonnes of T-shirt bags every month, he might need about 300 sqm for semi-manufacturer storage but with JIT-SD it takes only 160 sqm. Moreover, JIT-SD saves about 25% electricity consumption, lowering your carbon footprint.
What are your plans for 2014?
Mr. Huang: In 2014, I added more concepts onto the JIT-SD series to further enhance the existing technology. We will add ICT technology for management so that administrative employees would acquaint the onsite information and make decisions with better knowledge. In working with many excellent staff, I am confident that we can eventually make our product better than before.
