IMNA: Please describe the applications for your existing products.

 

Dr. Lan: Products manufactured by Taiwan Asahi Diamond has been expanded from the "Diamond Core Bits" used in the construction of dams in the earlier stage to thousands of different types of diamond tools. Our main products and corresponding applications include: Diamond / CBN grinding wheels. The diamond tools are used for semiconductor, solar energy and LED Industry; diamond tools for touch panels; diamond tools for automotive Industry; mono-crystal diamond tools for ultra-precision standard; PCD / PCBN machining tools such as drills, end mills, and reamers; diamond grinding wheels for LCD glass; fluting wheels for tungsten carbide end mills and drills; optical profile-grinding wheels; natural / PCD / mono-crystal synthetic diamond drawing dies; diamond turning tools, dresser and wear-resistant parts; diamond saw blades and core bits.

There are many industries that would need diamond tools for the targeted precision grinding, cutting, trimming, drawing, drilling, and moulding procedures. These utilisation ranges from traditional usages to high-tech industries. Industries such as semiconductor, image display, optical, biotechnological and medical industry rely on diamond tools in their various manufacturing processes. As such, diamond tools manufactured by Taiwan Asahi enter the very procedure during manufacture.

IMNA: Why did you decide to focus on mobile devices and automotive industries, recently?

Dr. Lan: Taiwan Asahi caters to all kinds of industries. Our tools aim to deal with all cutting, grinding, drilling, and polishing processes of hard and fragile materials. And, recently we have utilised our expertise in tapping mobile devices and automotive industries.

With regard to the mobile devices, we have developed tools for sapphire glass and Corning gorilla glass. These two materials are hard to process, yet Taiwan Asahi offers appropriate processing tools for manufacturers in the industry. On the other hand, our CBN tools are best designed for the automotive industry and many of our customers use them for automobile parts processing. We provide comprehensive tool solutions for manufacturers. With our help in the tool phase, users can conquer many cutting and grinding issues in their production lines.

IMNA: Can you describe your product advantage?

Dr. Lan: We target mid and high end users, so our competitiveness is not about prices. Rather, mid and high end users pursue the cutting/ grinding performance and the corresponding durability as their first priority. Hence, we enhance these two characters, making them significant for users in dealing with various materials during processing.

IMNA: What is your next business expansion project?

Dr. Lan: We will participate in international trade fairs all over the world, enthusiastically. Taiwan Asahi is a company that produces tools with good quality. I believe we shall let people know more about our products and what we can do. Moreover, we will send sales engineers overseas to support our customers abroad. Our sales engineers are equipped with both marketing and product knowledge, hence they can serve as usual engineers while promote Taiwan Asahi at the same time.

During challenging times, Taiwan Asahi Diamond develops different kinds of diamond tools for users in order to broaden their products. We want to provide a comprehensive service to our customers. In facing the rapid changes in this business environment, our company aims to devote our efforts in achieving a complete business organisation with high productivity rates and sales. We hope to become the leader in the tool industry. In pursuing our goal of "creating high quality products as our competitive edge", together with "satisfying customers' needs", Taiwan Asahi has transformed from a mere "manufacturer" to a "service provider".
