Organized by The Ministry of Economic Affairs, The Taiwan Machine Tool Component Industry Presentation has successfully curtained at the 28th Japan International Machine Tool Fair 2016. On Nov 21, 2016, the event attracted 17 audiences who represented 16 machinery companies from Japan, and 11 guests from Taiwan in total. Secretary Ms. Lu Shi-Ying from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Japan was also joined the forum to showed her support.
During the opening speech, Mr. Chuck Chen - vice president from TAMI (Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry) - assessed on the importance of the long historical background on manufacturing cooperation between japan and Taiwan. He noted the strong trade ties in the machine industry between the two countries, quoting the year 2015 when numbers soared significantly. The imported value of machine tools from Japan to Taiwan in 2015 peaked to the first place among all importing countries by USD 440 million, while the export from Taiwan to Japan reached USD 183 million. Mr. Chen therefore anticipates that the two would generate joint breakthroughs in the manufacturing industry in the long term.
Building on the objective to invite Japanese manufacturers in discovering interesting aspects about Taiwan’s machinery industry, the speakers from Taiwan covered several important topics that focused on development in gears, cutting tools, indexing plates and how Taiwan’s technology could contribute in the future of manufacturing in general. During the hour and an half presentation, Luren Precision targeted on the relations between precision machining technology and smart manufacturing; Gifu Enterprise introduced the company’s innovations in automation systems that would boost intelligent manufacturing; GSA Technology showcased the ability of customization in machineries, which embodies the strength of Taiwanese manufacturers in general; while in the final presentation from Shin-Yain Industrial, the speaker shared the experience on its evolution from a component manufacturer into solution innovator – which very much exemplified the fast quality growth in Taiwan components.
Being filled with informative presentations, the attendees expressed great satisfaction towards the event. It is worth mentioning that among the audiences, crucial players in the Japanese machine tool industry such as MITSUISEIKI KOUGYO, Takisawa, MAZAK, SHIGIYA, and Toyo Advanced Technologies all joined the forum. Given the high turnout of the event, it is fair to predict that the outlook of Taiwan’s machine tool and component industry would be quite positive for the coming years, we shall anticipate that the curiosity from Japanese buyers be well-fed with continuous groundbreaking techniques from Taiwan’s manufacturers.
